Sooo. I finally broke down and bought a new camera for myself after my little Canon SD770 IS let me down when I was trying to shoot the moon a couple days ago.. Which my mom's Canon S2 IS caught just the way I wanted it, but at a resolution I was not satisfied with. Cue a search of Craigslist, and a lot of help from my best friend, who ultimately gave me the link to the seller of the camera I now have. Normally I wouldn't buy used when it comes to cameras... But he had just bought it, and barely used it. It even had the batteries he originally put in it (which I annihilated on the first day of use ). I am absolutely in love with this camera... The biggest thing I was unsatisfied with on my SD770 was the lack of ability to set manual shutter speeds and apertures, and inability to use the optical zoom while taking videos. The SX20 resolves ALL of those - And what more, IT shoots 720p HD videos! Fantastical! And the quality is awesome, too.. Now if I can just figure a way to use Windows Movie Maker to edit the videos (which are in .MOV H.264 format), as Sony Vegas takes an hour to render a 3 minute video to WMV, which is what all my other videos are saved as. ... Meh, I just won't use it to video the cats.. As I really cannot wait that long to get my videos up when it comes to them, because I write Craigslist ads for the pets section and feature my videos there. But the picture quality is amazing, and editing them goes just as usual... Photoshop/Crop/©. Simple enough.
